Job Vacancies
To keep students safe, Texas law (TEC §22A.055) requires a Pre-Employment and Pre-Service Affidavit from anyone applying for employment or a position as a service provider for an educational entity. This applies to:
- All teachers and administrators
- All school employees
- All service providers
The affidavit asks whether the applicant has been:
- Investigated by law enforcement or a child protective service agency, or charged with certain types of crimes
- Investigated by a licensing authority or had a certificate sanctioned for certain types of misconduct
- Placed on the Do Not Hire Registry
The affidavit also requires a person, who answers affirmatively, to disclose all relevant facts pertaining to the matter. This requirement helps schools make informed hiring decisions and supports a safe learning environment.
If you are applying for any position with a school district, return this form to the school district's Human Resources department. Please remember ESC Region 2 is only facilitating the distribution of your application. Posting positions and hiring is the exclusive responsibility of the school district and its board of education.
