New STEM Certifications Announced by TEA for SY 2022

Changes in IBC List for Public School Accountability
On August 18, TEA made available the new list for Career and Technical Education program pathway industry-based certifications, recognized by the State of Texas for school accountability. Of particular interest for STEM pathways, Autodesk Inventor certifications have been added, replacing Solidworks in mechanical modeling. In addition, Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) is available as well as Engineering Technology Foundations and Engineering Technician through NOCTI.
Technology Applications Curriculum Required Beginning SY 2024

The TEKS for Technology Applications have been revised. Beginning in SY 2024, these learning standards will be required content for instruction in grades K-8 in Texas schools. Schools have the option of offering these standards as a stand-alone subject, or the standards may be embedded in other content areas, such as science. Click here to find the newly adopted standards.
