Per House Bill (HB) 2, all K–3 mathematics teachers, principals, coaches, and interventionists are required to complete the Texas Mathematics Academies K–3 by the 2030–31 school year. Aligned with the TEKS and the science of learning, these academies strengthen pedagogical expertise in foundational areas like fluency, place value, and problem-solving. While optional "Deep Dives" remain available for grades 4–5, the K–3 mandate begins its pilot phase in SY 2026–27 via regional ESCs and authorized providers to ensure all required staff meet the 2031 legislative deadline.
