Purple Star Campus Designation

The Purple Star Campus Designation acknowledges Texas district and charter schools' commitment to supporting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families. Instituted by the 86th Texas Legislature via SB 1557 and detailed in agency rule (19 TAC, § 61.1063), effective April 9, 2020, this esteemed recognition underscores a campus's dedication.

Annually, TEA bestows the Purple Star Campus designation upon qualifying campuses. These schools, upon meeting specified criteria (outlined below), will be honored with a distinctive Purple Star emblem, suitable for display on-campus or on the school's website. Additionally, their designation will be highlighted on the TxSchools.gov webpage.

 

The Purple Star Campus Designation application for the 2024-25 school year will be open April 1, 2024 - June 7, 2024.

 

Purple Star Campus awardees will be announced in Fall 2024.
