ESC-2 Board of Director Selects New Executive Director Corpus Christi, Texas — The Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC-2) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Eddie Hesseltine, currently serving as the Superintendent of Orange Grove ISD, as its next Executive Director.
Dr. Hesseltine brings 29 years of experience in public education to the position, with most of his career spent serving students, educators, and communities throughout the Coastal Bend and Region 2 school districts. A
lifelong Coastal Bend resident, he brings a deep understanding of the region, its school districts, and the opportunities and challenges facing public education in South Texas.
Dr. Hesseltine earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. His professional career has been centered on public education and improving opportunities for students in South Texas.
“We welcome Dr. Hesseltine as our new Executive Director to the Education Service Center, Region 2. We look forward to our ESC2’s next chapter of supporting our students, teachers and school districts,” stated ESC2 Board Chair, Patricia Wallek.
ESC-2 is governed by a seven-member board of directors and one appointed Charter School representative. Dr. Eddie Hesseltine succeeds Dr. Esperanza Zendejas (2020-2026). The Education Service Center, Region 2, supports public and charter schools through professional development, technical assistance, programs, and other services designed to improve educational outcomes for students.
