Dr. Roland Hernandez, Superintendent of Corpus Christi ISD, has been named one of five state finalists for the 2026 Superintendent of the Year award, presented by the Texas Association of School Boards.
After being named the Region 2 Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Hernandez advanced to the statewide selection process, where he was selected as a finalist from among 16 regional nominees. He was recognized for his strong advocacy for public education, collaborative leadership, and steadfast commitment to students, staff, and the community.
The 2026 Superintendent of the Year will be announced Oct. 10 at txEDCON in Houston.
