NJROTC Naval Science Instructor

Description: Rockport-Fulton high School is located just northeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, and is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and academically driven Naval Science Instructor (NSI) to fill a vacancy in July 2019. The program was established in 2009 and averages 105-110 cadets. It has been recognized as a Distinguished Unit and enjoys support from the entire community plus the Superintendent, School Board, Principal, administrators, and faculty. Instructors are on a 12-month contract (226 work day schedule) with salary above MIP. This position follows the holiday schedule of the students, plus annual leave outside of school days. The prospective NSI would be highly involved in extracurricular team practices. This position requires a significant amount of time supervising extracurricular activities after school, weekends, and overnight travel to include NJROTC competitive teams, community service, and school athletic events.

Maintain a daily teacher attendance log and records for substitute teachers. Monitor and process time records including leave requests and reports. Compile information and submit to central office according to established procedures and deadlines.

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Maintain student records according to established procedures.

Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures.

Maintain student records and process requests for student information and transcripts. Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools.

Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.

Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated administrator.

Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established procedures.

Reception and Phones

Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.

Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.

Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for principal as requested by principal.

Assist with planning, preparation, and setup of faculty meetings and campus activities.

Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
