Local visually impaired students
to compete in Technology Olympics
May 1, 2007 – Corpus Christi, Texas The Education Service Center,
Region 2 (ESC-2) and Region 2 Teachers of the Visually Impaired (VI)
will provide students with visual impairments the opportunity to
participate in the annual VI Technology Olympics on Tuesday, May 1st in
Corpus Christi, Texas at the ESC-2 facilities at 209 North Water Street.
The purpose of the event is to promote the students’ classroom use of
specific technology designed for visually impaired students and to
recognize the development of students’ skills in using this equipment.
An estimated 20 students, accompanied by a parent and teacher, are
expected to participate this year. Each student will participate in
three events. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded at the end of the
day.
