Aransas County Superintendent honored as Regional Superintendent
of the Year
August

The Education Service Center, Region 2
(ESC-2) hosted a press conference and reception at the ESC-2 on
Thursday, August 9th to recognize outstanding school superintendent,
Wayne Johnson (Aransas County ISD). Aransas County ISD is an
independent county-wide school system serving a 486 square mile area
including the communities of Holiday Beach, Lamar, Fulton, Rockport
and the northern part of Aransas Pass. The enrollment of 3,331
students is served by Little Bay Primary School(grades PPCD-K), Live
Oak 1-3 Learning Center(grades 1-3), Fulton 4-5 Learning
Center(grades 4-5), Rockport-Fulton Middle School(grades 6-8), and
Rockport-Fulton High School(grades 9-12).
S ince 1984, the Superintendent of the Year award has
recognized exemplary superintendents for excellence and achievement
in educational leadership. Mr. Johnson’s nomination was forwarded to
the Texas Association of School Administrators state selection
committee, who will announce the Superintendent of the Year at the
Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Convention.
