Three school campuses will be honored for “distinguished” performance.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS May 16, 2007
The Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC-2) Title I School Support Initiative
will honor three Title I Schools at the “Region 2, Title I Distinguished Schools
Awards Ceremony” on Monday, May 21, 2007. The ceremony to honor the campuses and
their school districts will be held at 9:15 a.m. at ESC-2 facilities located at
209 N. Water in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Title I program is a federal program
that strives "to help the neediest schools and students reach the same
challenging standards expected of all children." (Public Law 103-382).
Only three Region 2 Title I campuses have attained this distinguished status.
To receive this honor, the campus must have been a Title I school for the last
three years and must have met the Exemplary standard in the Spring of 2006 and
either Exemplary or Recognized in the Spring of 2004 and 2005. Each of the
schools will be presented with a certificate of achievement from the Texas
Education Agency.
The mission of the Education Service Center, Region 2 is to
be a catalyst for change resulting in student improvement and efficiency and
