The Educational Media Center is a central library of educational resources available to participating districts, charter schools and private schools. Educational Media Center Services include on-line and in-house collections of curriculum aligned resources to enhance student achievement. Services include:


Instructional Media Library
Media Booking & Catalog Self Registration
The Instructional Media Library partners with Region 2 districts through membership in the Regional Media Cooperative. We provide a K-12 lending library of over 7000 audio-visual resources available for circulation to school districts that support TEKS and TAKS. All subject areas are available, as well as, staff development programs. The Instructional Media Catalog is available online. Member districts may browse the catalog and do scheduling of visuals online.

Audio Tapes
The Media Lending Library offers audio tapes for check out. The audio tapes are check out for one or two weeks depending on the length of the reading book.  The list includes: Author, AR Level, AR Points, Length of audio and the Interest Level. Click here for list of Audio Tapes.

Discovery Education
DE streaming Plus
Discovery Education streaming Plus™ (formally unitedstreamingPLUS) integrates seamlessly into any curriculum with 9,000 full-length videos segmented into 71,000 content-specific clips tied directly to state and national standards.
This is included in the Educational Media Services but is available to non Media contracting districts. Request campus passcode
 

Discovery Education Science Elementary School™
Engage student minds with science while reinforcing important literacy and mathematics skills. Organized for educators to easily find appropriate resources to guide student learning. Allow students to learn, explore, demonstrate, and extend their knowledge.
 

Discovery Education Science Middle School™
Organized around the traditional middle school curriculum (Earth, Space Science, Life Science, and Physical Science), educators can quickly find resources to engage student minds. Allows students to interact, watch, and read in order to expand their knowledge about science concepts and the scientific process.
 

Note:  If a campus subscription is terminated or not renewed, the campus must notify all its users to immediately erase all content obtained from the website from any server, hard drive, CD, zip disk or other storage device.

Living Material Co-op
Living Science materials provided to teachers in member school districts, including over 100 living specimens. Small mammals (hamsters, rats, mice and gerbils), non-poisonous snakes, fish, live frogs, plants, flower and vegetable seeds, micro-organisms, preserved specimens, prepared Petri dishes and de-ionized water may be ordered by any teacher in participating districts.

Please Note that Region 20 delivers materials bi-weekly to us on Tuesday mornings. Therefore, materials that Region 20 delivers to us on Tuesday will not be delivered to your campus until your next delivery date. Example: Your delivery dates are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Region 20 sends you an email notification that your materials will be shipped on September 8th.  However, Region 20 delivers to Region 2 on Tuesday morning, September 8th. In this example, you will not actually receive your order until Thursday, September 10th. See the delivery schedule for delivery dates.

Duplication Services
Audio Tapes, CD & DVD Duplication

The Media Center is offering video tape, CD and DVD duplication services. The cost for video tapes is $10.00, CD's are $2.00, DVD 's are $3.00. The CD and DVD duplication contains CD, CD case and labeling. A $10.00 set-up fee will be applied to orders needing graphics or designs (clients must provide their own graphics/designs). Orders must be submitted one week in advance. Large orders must be schedule by contacting Larry Stone.  Duplication can not be done on copyright material. Audiovisual Repair (Equipment Form Needed)
Region 2 coordinates school districts repairs of A/V equipment by offering pick up and delivery of A/V equipment needing repair. Items are picked up at campus in each district and are brought to ESC via van delivery. Please contact us at 361-561-8662 or Larry Stone to order equipment forms.
