Stage Two
The Product
  1. Select new roles for producing your product:

    Print Specialist
Responsible for writing the text for the product and ensuring that it is clear, interesting and error-free.

    Image Specialist
Responsible for the overall look of the product including background, font choice and pictures.

    Technician
Responsible for inputting the information into the computer. This should be a different member than the Researcher in Stage One.
  2. Create your first draft of the product:
    • If you choose to make a brochure, use the brochure template in Word.
    • If you choose a multimedia project, use PowerPoint.
    • When choosing backgrounds or pictures for your product, please limit yourself to those available on the school computer. Images from books or the Internet often are copyrighted and may not be reproduced without permission from the author. Check with your teacher before using one of these images.

    Focus Note:
An important section of your product should address the connection between what you have discovered about Roman life and what you know about modern Western civilization. How are the Ancient Romans similar to us?

  3. Discuss the product so far. Make revision suggestions and reach consensus on all aspects of the project before you move on.
  4. Revise your project and conduct a final proofreading session.
  5. Rehearse your class presentation. You will be more comfortable and will do a better job if you practice instead of just winging it.
  6. Submit a print copy of your product to the teacher.
  7. Write a Project Report and submit it to your teacher.
